Hsien-Feng ruled during the time of the Tai Ping rebellion, and the large denomination inflationary coins and paper money he issued resulted from that war. The 1000 cash is the highest denomination made in metal, but they did issue considerable amounts of paper money in higher denominations.

Emperor : Wen Tsung using the title Hsien-Feng.

Date : 1851 to 1861.

Denomination : Copper 1000 cash.  Mint : Board of Works mint (old branch).

Reference : Hartill 22.767.

Size : 61 mm.  Weight : 68.85 grams.

Grade : gVF but this a casting flaw on the reverse character Qian  where the metal did not quite fill the mold completely.

Obverse : "Hsien-Feng yuan-pao".

Reverse : "t'ang qian boo yuwan" (value 1000, board of Revenue mint).
