Date : The exact dating of these early large Ban Liang coins is not yet firmly established, but they most likely were first issued at least as early as about 250 BC under the Chin Dynasty, but they may actually date back earlier to the Kingdom of Chin while it was still one of the warring states under the Zhou Dynasty (possibly as early as 350 BC).

Denomination : Ban Liang (meaning 1/2 ounce).

Reference : Hartill - 7.1 to 7.7 variety. Schjoth - 79 to 82 variety. 

Size : 34.2 x 35.3 mm. Weight : 7.12 gram.

Grade : gVF with some encrusting dirt remaining in the characters.  But the patination has been a little over cleaned exposing some bright metal in places.

Obverse : "BAN LIANG", meaning 1/2 ounce.

Reverse : blank.

In recent years these large Ban Liangs have become much more difficult to find.
