Tribe : These are assigned to the Atrebates tribe.

Denomination : Gold stater.

Date : 1st century BC.

Reference : Spink British - 38 (Remic type Qa).

Size : 14.7 x 16.7 mm.  Weight : 6.05 grams.

Grade : VF with the typical weak struck (or worn die) obverse.  There are a couple of scratches clearly visible on the obverse in the lower left.

Obverse : Very crude male head (Apollo) right.  On these the features of the head can become very crude, and the die so worn, that it becomes impossible to decern any features (at which point it become a class Qb rather than a Qa).  This coin is about 1/2 way between the most complete Qa's and the Qb's in that respect.

Reverse : Triple tailed horse running right, with a wheel symbol below, an eye shaped symbol behind, and very crude bird like symbol above.
