Denomination : Silver denier.  Mint : Poitiers.

This coin has the METVLLO inscription with the small X between the T and V.  It is generally thought that these with the small x were struck at Poitiers rather than Melle, although I don't think this is universally accepted.

Size : 21.8 x 22.0 mm.  Weight : 1.59 grams.

Reference : MEC vol 1, #937.

Grade : gVF, with a medium toning of probably original hoard patination.   Very good strike.

Obverse : Short cross, with CARLVS REX FR around .

Reverse : Karolus monogram with MET x VLLO around.
