Mint : The type is the same as those of Miletus, but with Maussollus' ethnic added.  I seems logical that there were struck at Miletus although I don't think that is certain.

Denomination : Silver stater.  Gray hoard toning.

Reference : SNG Kayhan 870.  Traite 88.   Sear #4953.

Size : 17.8 x 20.2 mm.  Weight : 11.57 grams.

Grade : VF but a little rough.

Obverse : Lion's head left with MA above the nose, naming Maussollos.

Reverse : Star pattern.

Provenance : ex Darcy Phalen collection.  ex Gemmini III, January 9, 2007, lot #198 (unsold on a $1500.00 US estimage).
