Denomination : Silver hemiobol

Date : ca. 450 to 340 BC.

Size : 7.0 x 7.5 mm   Weight : 0.42 grams (this is a rather small coin).

Reference : SNG Kayhan 998 variety.

Grade : VF/gVF but the obverse is a little off-centre.  Very dark grey-blue toning.

Obverse : Ram head right.

Reverse : Head of a young male right, with A to the lower left.   While the A could be short for the ancient Greek for of the name of this city (which starts with an A rather than a H) that is un-likely as the type is know with several different letters in that position.

Provenance : ex Darcy Phalen collection.
