Size : 16.8 x 17.5 mm.  Weight : 4.18 grams.

Grade : VF, lightly toned.

Obverse : Head of Ariarathes VI right.

Reverse : Athena standing left, holding two palm branches, with BASILEWS ARIARAQOU EPIFANOUS around, with the date mark font face=Symbol size=2>AI (year 12 for 119 to 118 BC) below and a monogram in the far right field.

The depiction of Athena holding the two palm branches, rather than a spear and small figure of Nike, is unusual and rare.  It is has been put forward by M�rkholm that this type may come from as yet uncertain secondary mint.
