The Buwayhid's were a local clan in Western Iran who expander there rule farther west in the post Abbasid period. Haha al Dawla abu Nasr Firuz ruled from AH 379-403.

Denomination : Gold Dinar.

Mint : Suq al Ahwaz.  Date : AH 399 (AD 1009).

Reference : Album-1573a.  Mitchiner Islamic 615 to 616.

Size : 24.9 x 25.5 mm.  Weight : 3.92 grams.

Grade : VF but the lettering is flat struck (which is normal for this issue).  The gold in these is somewhat base, with gives the coins a rather peculiar color slightly towards a yellow-green hue.

Obverse and Reverse : Arabic inscriptions.
