Denomination : Silver Sceattas.

Mint : Continental type minted in Frisia, but used in Britain.

Reference : Spink-839 variety.

Size : 10.4 x 11.8 mm.  Weight : 1.15 grams.

Grade : XF.

Obverse : Crude crowned head, with Pseudo-runic inscription.

Reverse : Plain cross, with pellets in angles, with a Pseudo-runic inscription around.

The head on the obverse of this example is very geometric, and much closer in style to that seen on the type illustrated as Spink -779.  This type is listed with the British coins because, while it was minted on the Continent in Frisia, they are found in large number in Britain.
