Denomination : Silver stater.

Reference : Sear Greek - 2398.  BMC 120; Slg.  BCD 495.

Size : 20.0 x 27.0 mm.  Weight : 12.28 grams.

Grade : XF but with a 100% complete strike.  There is no design that was engaved on the dies that is not present on this coin, including the shoulder design on the Amphora.  There are few Boeotian staters about which this can be said.  The dies were even realtively fresh when this coin was struck, with am absolute minimum of die deterioration in the inner curves of the shield (what is often called die rust and is seen on many boeotian staters).

Obverse : Boeotian shield.

Reverse : Amphora with a small grain kernal above, flanked by the magistrate's mark FA ST.
