Bithynia, Kios. ca. 350 to 300 BC.

Denomination : Silver hemidrachm.

Reference : Sear-3757 variety

Size : 13.8 x 14.7 mm. Weight : 2.51 grams.

Grade : VF, slightly double struck reverse.

Obverse : Head of  Apollo right KIA below.

Reverse : Prow of a galley right, with the magistrates name above and below, but the name is difficult to read because of the double strike.  What is above the prow is too weakly struck to read but ends in  a S and below the prow is ENOS.

This is the second of two coins we have from this set of dies, and both ave almost identical weakness on the inscripton above the prow, suggesting the weakness is due to deterioration of the die, rather than weak strike.
