zoom view

Denomination : Silver tetradrachm.

Date : This is the issue from between about 393 and 300 BC, but the very round flan suggests a date in the early part of that period.

Size : 19.0 x 22.5 mm.  Weight : 17.07 grams.

Reference : Sear-2537.

Grade : VG/XF.  The owl is fairly nice for this issue, but the image of the obverse speaks for itself (but the crest is there).

Obverse : Head of Athena right, but very off-centre.

Reverse : Owl standing right, with an olive sprig and crescent moon over its shoulder, with AQE to the right.
