reverse who held
the governorship of Egypt on three occasions in the years 171-172 AH, 175-176 AH, and 179-180 AH. . Bernardi records a single dinar dated AH 176 which bears Musa's name,
held in the American Numismatic Society (ANS 1951.174.4), who apparently
described it as a 'contemporary or modern counterfeit'. The present
specimen is unquestionably genuine, and is thus the second confirmed
dinar from the year AH 176 which names Musa.
