South Arabia. Saba’. AR half unit (17mm, 2.27g). Struck 1st century BC-1st century AD. Imitating Athens 'New Style' coinage. Laureate male head l., hair in ringlets; all within wreath. / Owl standing r., head facing, on amphora; monogram to l. and r. Cf. Munro-Hay 1.13ii for types. The monogram combination on this coin was unknown to Munro-Hay. The l. monogram appears to be a variant form of his monogram 90 and the r. monogram is the same as the r. monogram in his monogram combination 149.
