South Arabia. Saba’. AR unit (21mm, 4.48g). Struck 1st century BC-1st century AD. Imitating Athens 'New Style' coinage. Laureate male head l., hair in ringlets; all within wreath. / Owl standing r., head facing, on amphora. Cf. Munro-Hay 1.11i for types. An apparently unpublished variety of Munro-Hay’s ‘cursive legend’ variety. He does not list the staff(?) symbol in the upper l. field or the r. field monogram.
