Imperial Rome, Julia Domna, the wife of the emperor Septimius Severus. Augusta 193 - 217 AD. AR Denarius, 207 AD. Rome. 2.98g. IVLIA AVGVSTA, her draped bust rt. / FECVNDITAS, Tellus reclining beneath a tree, resting on a basket of fruit, holding a starry globe around which are four small figures representing the four seasons. RIC 549; BMCRE 159; RSC 35; RCV 6579. Fine and one of the more interesting and scarcer types in the repertoire of reverse types used for Julia Domna at Rome.
