ORBIANA (WIFE OF SEVERUS ALEXANDER) AR DENARIUS Rome Mint 225 AD Obverse: SALL BARBIA ORBIANA AVG Draped bust of Orbiana right Reverse: FECVND AVGVSTAE Fecunditas standing left, holding cornucopiae and feeding child below References: RIC - (Mule with reverse of Julia Mamaea, RIC 331) Unpublished, Extremely Rare Size: 18mm, 2.32g Professional Numismatic Notes: Good very-fine and toned with some red-iron mineral deposits. This reverse type is recorded only for Julia Mamaea (the mother of Severus Alexander), but not for Orbiana the wife of Severus Alexander. The weight on this specimen is low, so it is possibly a fouree. Either way, it would be an important piece for a collection of the Severan dynasty!
