Draped bust of Khusru II right wearing an elaborate winged mural crown with frontal crescent, kolymbos in crescent on right shoulder, crescent on left shoulder, outer circle star and crescent at 9,3 and 6 o'clock Reverse.Fire altar with ribbons flanked with a star and crescent, attendant either side, mint signature to right and regnal year, outer circle star and crescent at 9, 12, 3 and 6 o'clock. Ref:Gobl type II/3. Good very fine, some weakness in strike. The attribution of many mint signatures remains unresolved in Sasanian numismatics, WLC remains enigmatic. |
