Galba BI Tetradrachm of Alexandria, Egypt. Dated RY 2 = AD 68/9. [ΣEPOYI] ΓΑΛΒΑ AYTO KAIΣ [ΣE]BA, laureate head to right; LB (date) in lower right field / ΕΛΕΥΘΕΡΙΑ, Eleutheria standing facing, head to left, holding wreath and sceptre, and leaning on short column. RPC I 5342; Köln 233-4; Dattari (Savio) 310; K&G 17.14; Emmett 172.2. 12.37g, 26mm, 12h.
Very Fine; some encrustations. Rare.

It can be seen on the rev. that this piece has been overstruck, as in the left field the small figure of Nike with arm outstretched, as held by Kratesis on another rev. type of Galba's, is discernible. The planchet was rotated 90° clockwise before it was struck for the second time.
