October - November AD 68, Rome mint.

Obverse: IMP SER GALBA CA ES AVG TR P, laureate and draped bust facing right.

Reverse: LIBERTAS PVBLICA, Libertas standing, holding pileus and cradling vindicta.

25.82 grams, 34 mm in diameter.

RIC 387; SEAR V.1, 2118.

Some peripheral striking softness, otherwise the portrait very bold, practically very fine, with a pleasing rich dark patina, most attractive in the hand, a rare coin from a very short-lived Emperor.
