Comments |
The Awadh issues in the name of Shah Alam II use a frozen RY date of 26. The date of issue can be determined by the AH date, and this then fixes the name of the Nawab during whose rule the coin was issued. Note the sprig next to the RY date. A SUPERB specimen with beautiful iridescent toning.
From the collection of Alan DeShazo, the noted numismatist and author of several papers on Islamic coins.
