ROMAN MYSTERY GOD MITHRAS

Mithras was originally worshipped in Persias as the god of truth and light. In myth he slew a great wild bull that was the first living creature. From the bull's blood sprang grain and other gifts. Then the first human couple was born, and Mithras had to defend them from the powers of evil. When his work on Earth was completed, he fiested with the sun god. His worshippers imitated the fiest in their rituals, which took place in underground chapels. Only men were accepted into this religion, and they had to go through many physical ordeals to become initiates. Mithraism especially appealed to soldiers, who spread it throughout the empire.A very beautiful item for anyone who loves ancient art and wall paintings with extremely beautiful pastel colors!

PERFECT GIFT FOR THE HOLIDAY SEASON!

Since the original wall paintings are already in museums and/or ancient sites this is as close as you can get to them!

The real replica is much nicer than it looks in pictures.

Ancient Fresco Technique: To get a smooth wall surface for the painting to be made on, the rough stone wall was covered with a number of chalk layers (sometimes even 6 or 7) or various content. On the last of these layers, which was very thin, the wall decoration was painted "al fresco", i.e. while the last layer of chalk was still wet. This wall decoration was put on from the top to the bottom of the wall, i.e. the painting was put on in phases and covered the whole of the wall. The decoration was put on, after an incised study draw had been made, by the pictor.

This fresco replica was %100 hand-crafted by picture transferring on plaster slab.
