This rare bronze issue was previously attributed to the Interregnum period between Aurelian and Tacitus. It is now believed to be a commemorative issue struck by Gallienus to celebrate his victories over the Herulians and Goths. Gallienus was murdered in Milan before his planned triumphant return to Rome.
