Prusias  joined Eumenes the second of Pergamon in a war against Pharnaces the first of Pontus.
Later he invaded Pergamon only to be defeated, paying heavy reparations. He married his maternal niece, and
maternal half-cousin Apame IV, a princess from the antigonid dynasty, by whom he had a son, the later Nicomedes 11. This son visited the senat in Rome to ask help in reducing the amount of these costly
reparations. Prusias tried to murder his own son, only ending up being murdered himself instead.
