Generally the didrachms of Philip V are well known  for their worn state.
This piece is an amazing exception.

Rome declared war on philipV ( second Macedonian war) and in 197 Philip was
decisively defeated by the Roman General Flamininus at the battle of Cynoscephalae in
Thessaly, one of the great turning points in the history of the Mediterranean world.
Philip was no longer a significant factor in the politics of the eastern Mediterranean area.
He died at Amphipolis in his sixtieth year ( 179 BC) and was succeeded on the throne by
his elder son , Perseus, who was to be the last king of Macedon.
The Roman Senate declared war on King Perseus in 171 BC, for no reason at all.
All of Perseus attempts at negotiation were refused. In 168 BC,Macedonia was destroyed,
the Monarchy abolished and the country was divided up into four regions which were
forbidden from communicating with one another.  Quitte a severe punishment for a
treaty entered into at the wrong time.
