Rare variety.Almost extremely fine.

Nicomedes II was called Epiphanes, and by now a man in his forties stationed in Rome as his father,s
longevity. He became to enjoy a good reputation among his subjects and with the Romans whom he was
always ready to serve, as for instance in giving prompt help in quelling the revolt of Aristonicus.
He was honoured by the Ionian Federation, and the city of Priene in gratitude for his aid founded a cult
for his worship, complete with priest and sacrifice. He loved the arts. In general his reign which had begun
so badly proved to be peaceful and prosperous.
