Head of the nymph Histiaia facing right, wearing a wreath/ the nymph Histiaia seated on the stern
of a galley to right, holding a stylis, the side of the stern decorated with a wing.( cf. BMC 34ff).
a charming little fraction of excellent style.
Extremely fine, mintstate.

These beautiful small silver coins were struck in the important commercial city of Histiaia.
Histiaia was the local City Goddess. The city was situated on the Greek Island of Euboia, off the eastern
mainland. The average weight about 2,3 grams.  These coins played an important role in local trade and part of the small change used during those times.
