Ex.John Slocum collection , Sothebys London sale 6.3.1997 part lot 169.
Ex Thomas Ollive Mabbot collection Schulman Gallery Auction New York 27-29 October 1969 lot 5152 ( illustrated Pl.29).

On the basis of the obverse design this coin is clearly related to an issue attributed to Joscelin I or II ( Met pg.38.Plate 7.118, Pesant in Spink N.C.1992 No 8) these coins, however, have an inscription on the reverse reading IEVSEΛIN.The obverse of Pesants No.8 has exactly the same design as this coin in that it has a cross in left and right fields.

This coin was described by the cataloger in the Schulman sale as a coin of Marach issued by Richard Circa AD 1115 and in a footnote said that Professor Mabbott thought it might be an issue of Anchioch and even noted that the reverse bearing the cross of Jerusalem resembled issues of Cyprus.
