The kingdom of Agreya or Agrodaka finds mention in ancient Indian texts like the Hindu epic Mahabharata. Mythology associates it with King Agrasena, who is claimed to the progenitor of mercantile communities of North India such as the Agarwals.
All coins of this tribal janapada (people's state) are rare.
