ROMAN PROVINCIAL. Syria. Uncertain southern mint under Marcus Aurelius, as Caesar (AD 139-161). AE. Bareheaded and draped bust of Marcus Aurelius r. / Antoninus Pius on horseback l., raising arm. Apparently unpublished, but see CNG E239, lot 400; CNG E175, lot 179; CNG E163, lot 186, CNG E262, lot 254. Same obverse die as CNG E175, lot 179. An unusual in that it names only Marcus Aurelius on the obverse and Antoninus Pius on the reverse, but gives on indication of the issuing city.
