Carausius (AD 286-293), billion Antoninianus, AD 287-293, London mint. Obv. Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust facing right. Rev. Pax standing, holding olive branch and vertical sceptre, S–P across fields, MLXXI in exergue. 4.25g, die axis 6h (Sear 13640 var. (RCV IV); RIC V. 98). A trifle off centre, otherwise a delightfully presented coin, deeply toned with good facial detail, pleasing in hand. Extremely fine.
