Struck by Perseus for payment to mercenaries from Crete, where coinage on the
Rhodian standard was the norm (Cf. Ashton, NC 1988, pp. 29-30). Nearly all
known specimens are from the Sitichoro Hoard found near Pharsalos in 1968.
