Obverse: The legend: al-Sultan, Nasir al-Din Shah Qajar with year AH1300 in the centre, surrounded by the Farsi lines in circular: to the lion-heart man who caught the enemy of the king/from our shinning grace, has received this medal  هر شیردل که دشمن شه را عنان گرفت - از آفتاب همت مااین نشان گرفت

Reverse: Sun and lion standing left, holding a sword.

Grade: good very fine, mount removed as usual.

Notes: Naser al-Din Shah ruled Iran almost 50 years. He was the first Iranian king who made state visit to other countries, including European cities. In Great Britain, he received by Queen Victoria. His personal account of his trip was soon translated into English and within a year of his journey to Europe was published.
