These copper pennies were issued at Saint Andrews, possibly as an ecclesiastical issue by Bishop Kennedy.  These were the first copper pennies of the British Isles unless you include the early medieval sceattes of the Kings of Northumbria.

Denomination : Copper penny.  Mint : Saint Andrews in Fife.

Date : ca. 1460's to 70's

Size : 18.3 x 19.7 mm.  Weight : 1.85 grams.

Grade : VF but a little rough (as is normal for these).

Obverse : Orb tilted upward with rosette in centre, with IACOBVS DEI GR REX around.

Reverse : Cross in a quadrefoil, with CRVX PELLIT OIE CRIM around (Latin for "The cross drives away all sin").
