Obverse: Crowned head of David II left, with DAVID DEI GRA REX SCOTORVM around.
 
Reverse: Long cross and mullets with two rings of inscrption.  The inner ring reads VILLA EDINBVRGh and the outer ring reads DNS PTECTOR MS E LIBERATOR MEUS (God is my defender and my redeemer).  Some of the reverse inscription is very weak, and the last part might be abbreviated from what I have been shown).
