These small coins are commonly known as wire money as they were struck on flans cut from lengths of wire.  All have shear marks at the ends, resulting from how the wire was cut up.  The flans are generally smaller than the dies, so only very rarely will very well centered specimens with everything on the flan be encountered (never for some issues).

Denomination : Silver Kopek.

Date : This example is dated to 1704, via a cyrillic date code below the horse (only the tops of the characters show).

Size : 11.0 x 8.1 mm.  Weight : 0.25 grams.  This is a fairly small coin.

Grade : VF with about 2/3 of the horseman showing (about as much as you ever get).  The obverse might improve slightly with a proper cleaning.

Obverse : Horseman riding right, with two Cyrillic letters indicating a date of 1704.

Reverse : Cyrillic inscription naming Peter as Czar.

Below is a composite of most of the reverse inscription as it might have appeared on the dies, although the exact letter forms on each die could vary considerably, and so this is only a theoretical die.   One think that can cause confusion, is that the T in PETER often looks more like an M on many specimens.
