This type was issued jointly by two moneyers.

Denomination : Silver denarius.

Reference : Sear-290.

Size : 18.1 x 18.8 mm. Weight : 3.96 grams.

Grade
: VF, but a little off-centre.

Obverse : Diademed and Draped female head right, with an uncertain mint control symbol just to the right of the truncation, with C ANNI T F T N PRO CONS EXE S C around (part of the inscription is off the flan).

Reverse : Victory holding a palm branch and  driving a quadriga right, with L FABI L F HISP below, and a mint control mark B below the horses.

The EXE S C at the end of the obverse inscription means this coin was a special issue by the decree of the senate, probably using silver the senate supplied.  These were probably struck to finance a campaign against Sertorius, a renegade in Spain, and may have been struck at a mint in Northern Italy.
