It is interesting to now that the last three letters or Alexander's name are much smaller and crudely engraved than the rest of the name.  This may tell us something about the order of engraving of the die, in that if the outer ring of beads were engraved, and and only then the name was engraved starting from the A, the engraver ran out of space for the last three letters and had to cram the in.  This also suggests that the engraver did not first lay out of the letters with marks on the die, as to have done so would shown he he was short of space and he could have adjusted the entire inscription.
