zoom view

This type was issued with co-ruler Constantine, after December 21, AD 813.

Denomination : Bronze Follis. Mint : Scracuse.

Reference : Sear-1636

Size : 17.2 x 20.7 mm. Weight : 3.1 grams.

Grade : VF with a mid to dark green patina.

Obverse
: Facing bust of Leo V with a star to the right, and LEO around to top, but unfortunately the inscriptions is not clearly visible on this specimen (which is fairly normal for these).

Reverse : Facing bust of Constantine with CONST clearly visible to the sides.

These coins are over struck on cut down flans from earlier reigns, which is why most specimens will have angular off-round shapes.
