Epidamnos' name was changed to Dyrrhachium when it came under Roman control in 229 BC.  It was the main port of entry for Roman goods shipped to Greece from Brendisium in Italy.

Denomination : Silver hemi-drachm (scarce denomination).  Mint : Dyrrhachium.

Date : After 229 BC.

Reference : Sear Greek - 1902 variety.

Size : 13.7 x 14.9 mm.  Weight : 1.63 grams.

Grade : VF.

Obverse : Forepart of cow standing right AFRO above.

Reverse : Double star pattern in a square, with what appears to be DUR EXA NES TOU (or similar) around.
