The Himyarites were in the southern tip of Saudi Arabia, in the are now known as Yeman.

Denomination : Silver unit (sometimes called a light denarius).

Reference : SNG ANS 6, 1503 to 1522.

Size : 15.9 x 16.8 mm.  Weight : 2.61 grams.

Grade : VF with minor brown encrustation (this coin was heavily encrusted when it came to me, and I was able to remove all but these last few minor bits of encrustation).

Obverse : Male head left, possible representing Apollo, with a plow to the left and a few odd bits of inscriptons to the right.

Reverse : Bucranium with a solar symbol above, and various objects around.
