Issued as the wife of Marcus Aurelius.

Denomination : Orichalcum dupondius.  There seems to be some debate as to if these coins as As or Dupondius but this specimen is clearly orichalcum and at this weight has to be a dupondius.  This type was issued in silver denarii, orichalcum sestertii, and these which I believe exist in both copper As and orichalcum dupondii which can be told apart by alloy and weight. Once patinated the alloy is not always obvious, leading to this confusion.

Mint : Rome.

Date : issue of AD 161 to 175.

Reference : Sear-5294

Size : 26.1 x 27.2 mm.  Weight : 13.18 grams.

Grade : Fine with light marks in the fields on the reverse.

Obverse : Head of Faustina Junior right, with FAUSTINA AVGVSTA around.

Reverse : Fecundita standing left with four children, two of which she is  holding and two at her feet, with FECVND AVGVSTAE around and S C to her sides.
