Tribal origin : The Boii-Cenomani were a group of Celtic people in the Cisalpine Gaul region of Northern Italy.

Denomination : Silver Drachm.

Date : 3rd century BC.

Reference : SNG Milano 118.

Size : 13.3 x 16.4 mm.  Weight : 2.87 grams.

Grade : XF, good metal with a far better than usual strike, with more of the design on the flan than you usually see for these, and excellent style for this issue.

Obverse : Stylized head of Artemis right.

Reverse : Very stylized lion right, with a chevron pattern above that us derived from the MESSA inscription seen on the Massalian prototypes of the 4th and 3rd century BC.

This is by far the nicest example of this type I have seen.
