Flavius Valerius Aurelius Constantinus, or Constantine the Great, Reigned from 307-337 AD. He is one of the most important rulers in Roman, indeed world history. He was the first Christian Emperor of Rome, reversing earlier persecutory laws and passing the famous Edict of Milan, which allowed for religious tolerance throughout the Empire. Constantine also moved Imperial residence to the Eastern Byzantine province, living in Constantinople throughout the latter half of his reign.
