Kushano Sasanians, Ohrmazd (Hormizd) I Kushanshah. Circa AD 265-295. AE Unit
14.97mm, 3.79gm. Gandhara mint. bearded bust right wearing lion headdress, long ribbons
flow upward from hair in pleats; reverse fire altar with 'Gondopharan'
symbol on shaft, bust on altar.

Note:
The Kushano-sasanians were sasanian princes ruling
the old kushan lands in Bactria, the Kabul valley and Gandhara, as
sasanian vasalls. Some periods these kushan-shahs were more or less
independent, like this ruler, Hormazd I Kushanshah, ruling about AD
295-325 (or 270-295 according to Cribb). Mint for this type might be the
Kabul valley.
