Jerry Bobbe maintains dual careers as both a professional cellist and expert numismatist. His passionate teenage interest in choice Early American Coppers was followed in 1972 by an unexpected introduction into British Conder Tokens.
Hooked immediately, he has continued to be insatiable in his quest for knowledge (and tokens), and is a constant champion of the series. These days, in addition to his music/teaching career, Jerry has a highly regarded and non-stop business doing coin restoration work for many of the “major players” of choice and rare U.S. Colonials, Half Cents and Large Cents. He is a frequent instructor for the ANA’s “Advanced U.S. Coin Grading” classes, and was formerly a grader for PCGS. In 2004 he instructed the first Conder Token Mini-seminar at the ANA summer “Coin Camp” in Colorado Springs. In his spare time, Jerry enjoys studying the wonderful Eighteenth Century Token series, with a big interest in die states, trial pieces, private tokens, rarities, and all high grade and unusual items.
