Reign AD 1896Reign AD 1848-1896 Denomination copper 25 dinars Date Struck 1299 AH (1881), the first digit 9 is being turned into an 8. Mint Tehran Obverse the Farsi legend: "Rayej Mamlekat-e Iran" in center with the crown on the top center and the legend, 25 dinar at the bottom, below it mint. Reverse a shining radiant face of a woman (or a lion) in the mid-field of the flan with crown in top center. The date at the bottom. Weight 2.5 gr. Diameter 20 mm. Reference KM #882 Grade XF plus (as good as one can get) Comments This type 25 dinars was minted from 1294 to 1303 AH. This coin is listed as anonymous for the lack of ruler's name however from its date, it is attributed to Naser al-Din Shah Qajar. The original design of this coin was made by the Austrian mint official F. Pechan. Coins of 1294 and 1295 of this type in different denominations bear initials FP for him.
