(#534) Obverse: BICENTENNIAL UNITED STATES NAVY 1975 / IN DEFENSE OF RIGHTS AND LIBERTIES -- Modern nuclear Navy, air, surface and submarine vessels emanating from the nucleus of the atom. // Reverse: BIRTH OF THE UNITED STATES NAVY OCTOBER 13, 1775 -- The sloop ALFRED, flagship of the First American Fleet serving in the Continental Navy from 1775 to 1778, is depicted on the obverse of the medal with the symbolic American eagle alight upon the anchor and the stars and stripes.
